Giuseppe Tucci (* Macerata, June 5, 1894 - San Polo dei Cavalieri (Rome) April 5, 1984), was an Orientalist researcher and Italian archaeologist, specializing in Tibet and the history of Buddhism. He spoke fluently in various languages such as Sanskrit, Bengali, Pāli, Prakrit, Chinese and Tibetan. He was a professor at the University of La Sapienza in Rome until his death.
