Alain Badiou (born 1937) is professor and director of the Institute of Philosophy at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris and professor at the Collège International de Philosophie in Paris and at the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee. In addition to his influential work as a philosopher, a mathematician, novelist and playwright. Among other topics, explores the art as a unique way of thinking. Alain Badiou is a member, for many years, the French Communist Party.
