César Fernández Moreno

(Buenos Aires, 1919 - Paris, 1985) Argentine poet and essayist, representative of the Generation of 1940, although he identified with subsequent generations not only through his creative work, but also as an anthologist and theorist of the new trends. He founded and directed the poetic collection Fontefriada and the literary magazines Contrapunto, Correspondencia y Zona; He was a film critic in the magazine Nosotros, a contributor to the newspaper La Nación and the magazine Sur. He covered the poetic stage of the Generation of 1940 as a chronicler and writer; As a critic, he mainly located the generational nuclei of Argentine avant-garde poetry, which is documented in his work, The Reality and the Papers (1967).
