Cristina Mª Menéndez Maldonado

She is a Madrid journalist who learned to tell stories almost at the same time as writing. At times careful writer, others, passionate, and every day insistent collector of words, recognizes that there is no better place to wrap yourself than between the pages of a good book or several at the time: everything depends on the occasion. Collaborator in several journals of research and history of the MC Ediciones group, this storyteller, restless and imaginative, is the author of short stories such as Álbum de cuentos (1995); Words to plant springs (2005); The best love stories or how we broke the death to kisses (2012); Journal of an artist (2013); The soul of harmony (2013); also of illustrated children's stories like Peditos, pedetes y pedotes (2013) o Do I tell you a secret? (2014) and the novel Words of Rain (2014), as well as a multitude of research reports. "Writing is waking up to magic, which is stirred impetuous or delicate in each word, giving name to everything that exists," says the author.

In 2018 his novel Words of Rain has been chosen by the New Spanish Book and is already in 2nd edition. as well as The soul of harmony with prologue by Jaime Villarrubia. Her children's story Peditos, pedetes y pedotes, illustrated by Rut Villamagna, is available for sale in a bilingual version. Recently his latest novel El vendedor de abanicos (Eirene Editorial) has been published. His restless character has led him to direct a documentary project on sacred architecture and a short film about Jewish women in medieval Spain.
