Daniel Cassany

He is a professor and researcher in discourse analysis of the Department of Translation and Language Sciences, University Pompeu Fabra. He holds a doctorate in Catalan philology and language teaching. He has published more than 15 papers on written communication and language teaching in Catalan, Castilian and Portuguese, as Descriure escriure (1987); The cuina de l'escriptura (1993); L'repair escriptura (1993); L'escriptura construct (1999); Rere them línies (2006); Workshop texts (2006), l'Esmolar eina (2007), To be literate (2009) and ensenyar llengua (1993, coauthored), reprinted several times in Spain and America. He has published about 100 scientific texts in newsletter articles and proceedings in Congress, also in English and French. On the advisory board of fifteen scientific journals of humanities, social and education in Catalan and Spanish level. He has been invited to universities and institutions from over 25 countries in Europe, America and Asia teacher. He has collaborated with education ministries of the Spanish State, Argentina, Chile and Mexico, in programs promoting reading and writing. Since 2004 directs the research group Literacitat review.
