Inga Gaile, poet, writer and feminist. She has published four books of poetry and a book of poetry for children. According to Latvian Literature, in her verses "she explores internal states of being, her own experiences, the daily lives of women, as well as those of marginalized groups in society." She is also the author of many plays, and in 2016 she published her first novel: The Glass Splinters. She has translated Russian poets into Latvian and her own poems have been translated into English, German, Swedish, Lithuanian, Bengali and now Spanish.
