J.M. Martí Font

J. M. Martí Font (Mataró, 1950) studied law and economics at the University of Barcelona. Between 1973 and 1979 he participated in various alternative press projects and created and directed several art galleries. Between 1979 and 1984 he lived in the United States working on film projects and collaborating with various publications. In 1984 he joined the editorial staff of El País, where he was editor-in-chief of Culture. Between 1989 and 1994 he was a correspondent in Germany, and from 2004 to 2009 in Paris. Since 2010 he has been a professor of International Master of International Journalism at IDEC. He currently works in print and radio. He is the author of The Day That Ended the Twentieth Century (Anagram, 1999) about the fall of the Berlin Wall.
