Karen Villeda

Karen Villeda (Tlaxcala, 1985). He has published a book for children, Cuadrado de Cabeza. The best detective in the world or so he believes (Edebé, 2015) and four poems: Dodo (Conaculta, 2013), Constantinople (Posdata Ediciones, 2013), Babia (UNAM, 2011) and Tesauro (Conaculta, 2010). In 2015 she was Resident Writer of the International Writing Program of the University of Iowa. She has obtained scholarships from The Ragdale Foundation, Open Society Foundations and Young Creators of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA). He has deserved, among other recognitions, the 2014 Mexico City Youth Award, the "Juan de la Cabada" Children's Short Story Award, the 2013 National Elias Nandino Poetry Award, the First Prize of Poetry from the magazine "Punto de Partida" 2008 and the IV National Poetry Prize for Children "Narciso Mendoza" 2005. His translation of the poem Lamia by John Keats was published by the Secretary of Culture and the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon this year. He regularly collaborates with Free Letters and Nexuses.
