María García Esperón was born in Mexico City in 1964. She studied Human Sciences and Classical Literature. He has obtained the Barco de Vapor Award, the Latin American Prize for Infant and Young Literature Norma Fundalectura and the Hispano-American Poetry Prize for Children. His novel Dido for Aeneas was selected in 2016 on the IBBY Honor Roll. In El Naranjo he has also published Copo de Algodón and El anillo de César.
