Octavio Armand

Octavio Armand (Guantánamo, 1946) lived for decades in New York, where he founded and directed the magazine Escandalar. He is the author, among others, of the poetry volumes Cosas pasar (1977), Biografía para feacios (1980), Origami (1987), Son de ausencia (1997), Clinamen (2013) and Concierto para delinquir (2016), of the essays of surfaces (1980), the flying fish (1997), the breath of the dragon (2005), invertebrate aesthetics (2014) and toy horizons (2016), and the memories of the Cuban eight (2012). Resides in Caracas. His writing, critical heiress of the Cuban Baroque tradition, has been studied by critics such as Rafael Rojas (see "Octavio Armand and the Zequeira hat") and Johan Gotera (see Baroque borders.)
