Paulina Varas

Independent researcher and curator. Graduated in Art by the University of Playa Ancha and Candidata to Doctor in History and Theory of the Art by the University of Barcelona. Coordinator of CRAC Valparaiso. She is an external researcher at the CIDACh research center at Playa Ancha University. He has been a member since 2007 of the Conceptualismos del Sur Network, where he has participated in support actions and working groups in Chile, Spain, Argentina, Peru, among others. He has written about contemporary Chilean and Latin American art in international magazines and publications such as: Brumaria, ArteContexto, LatinArt, PLUS, ArteyCritica, ERRATA, among others. In curatorship, her projects as curator or co-curator stand out: A certain type of political poetics, (Valparaíso 2008); Subversive Practices, Art under conditions of political repression, 60s-80s South America-Europe, (Stuttgart, 2009); Valparaíso: Interventions, (Valparaíso 2010); "An action done by another is a work of the Donoso Light" (Santiago 2011); "Deisler, the Antofagastine Years" (Antofagasta, 2012); "Artist for Democracy: the archive of Cecilia Vicuña" (Santiago 2014).
