Silvia Federici is a professor at Hofstra University in New York. A feminist militant since 1960, she was one of the main animators of international debates about the status and remuneration of domestic work. During the 1980s she worked for several years as a teacher in Nigeria, where she witnessed the new wave of attacks on common goods. Both trajectories converge in this work.
