Søren Kierkegaard

Among the largest in the history of thought. His personality and his work have been described as "tumultuous, overflowing, irrepressible" and have been constantly subjected to diverse interpretations by the philosophical and theological currents that have followed. Cornered at first for his clash with established Christianity, was rescued by G. Brandes, T. S. M. Haecker and Heidegger. A Spain came through early and Høffding Unamuno, who called him "the brother Kierkegaard," but soon fell into oblivion, despite efforts of authors like Aranguren and Valverde. Recently there has been renewed interest in his magnificent work and his disturbing personality, the result of which are the numerous studies and conferences about their thinking and the new critical edition of his writings.
