Sylvia Marcos

Sylvia Marcos has been Associate Post-Doctoral Research and Professor in the Divinity School of Harvard University and a visiting professor at various American universities. Member and founder of the Permanent Seminar on Gender and Anthropology Anthropological Research Institute of the National Autonomous University of Mexico is; Professor, Diploma in Religious Plurality of the National School of Anthropology and History, and member of the Permanent Secretariat of the Latin American Association for the Study of Religions. Part of the editorial board and has frequently published in magazines such as Concilium, Religion, Numen and Gender in Society. He has published several books and half a hundred articles on gender, religion and the Mesoamerican worldview. Among his recent publications include the book Gender Bodies Religions (2000), and collaboration in the collective work Sexuality and Religion in Cross-Cultural Perspective (Routledge, 2002).
