Degree in History from the Universidad Iberoamericana, and PhD in History from El Centro de Estudios Históricos de El Colegio de México. He made a postdoctoral stay at the UNAM Institute of Historical Research.
He taught at the Universidad Iberoamericana, the Helénico Cultural Institute, the Centro de Arte Mexicano and collaborated in advising and correcting scripts of historical series for TV. His main areas of research are the history of mentalities, cultural history, history of sexuality, slavery and virreinal Mexico.
