Zygmunt Bauman

Zygmunt Bauman was born in Poland in 1925 and currently is Professor Emeritus of Sociology dela Warsaw University. His academic career has led him to teach at the universities of Leeds, Tel Aviv, The London School of Economics, among others. Since its inception in the 1970s, his vision of sociology discipline claimed for a less descriptive and reflective paper. His contributions to the conceptualization
of postmodernism, to which calls "liquid modernity" have been captured in various trials that have earned international recognition. Bauman has been awarded the European Amalfi Prize
for Sociology and Social Science in 1992 and Theodor W. Adorno Award in 1998. In 2010 he was awarded, along with Alain Touraine, the Prince of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities.
