How La Esfera was born
Within the framework of a large communication group, Unidad Editorial, the first written press in Spain, editor of the newspapers El Mundo, Marca and Expansión; Telva magazines, The Adventure of History and Economic News; their respective websites, all of them leaders in the sector; and audiovisual producer through Radio Marca TV.

For his part, the majority shareholder of Unidad Editorial, Rizzoli Corriere della Sera (RCS) MediaGroup, is the most important Italian publisher, with a strong presence in the daily press, magazines, books, radio, Internet, distribution and advertising sectors. The Corriere della Sera, the Gazzetta dello Sport, the magazines Oggi, Max, Il Mondo, Capital, Amica, Io Donna or Anna, the publishers Bompiani, Rizzoli, Fabbri, Sonzogno and Adelphi, among others, represent their most outstanding activities.

Why La Esfera was created
To start a new activity in the world of books that is capable of combining the strength of a large communication group with the dynamism, independence and modernity of a small company.

When was La Esfera born
In the autumn of 2001 the first novelties appeared, with a representation of titles that endorse the different lines of the project. In autumn 2004, the first titles in Catalan arrive, while Portugal begins its journey in winter 2006.

Where are the headquarters
The headquarters are in Madrid, at Avenida de San Luis, number 25, in the Unidad Editorial group building.

The headquarters of A Esfera dos Livros is in Lisbon, at Rua Barata Salgueiro, number 30 - 1º Esquerda.
