¿Por qué el calentamiento global de hace 56 millones de años explica la evolución climática actual?
56 million years ago, a sharp increase in carbon levels in the atmosphere caused an increase in Earth's temperature. The temperature of the oceans increased between 5o and 8 oC on the surface, many areas of the planet suffered torrential rains, the biological evolution of living organisms was heavily modified and the oceans were acidified. After 250,000 years, temperature values returned to their preconditions. The record of this event is especially well represented in the rocks that today constitute the Pyrenees.
