Religión y política en América Latina
The book describes the intimate relationship between religion, politics and society in Latin America over the past three decades, from the reinterpretation that liberation theology has made the vocation of the Catholic Church. Liberationist Christianity defined itself through a multitude of social struggles particularly in Brazil and Central America. Many important events in the recent history of this region, the Nicaraguan revolution, the tortuous ascent of President Aristide in Haiti and Chiapas uprising-testify to the influence of a well-defined liberationist Christianity. Here a new interpretation of liberation theology and religious rivals in Latin America projects is proposed.
