Passionate musicians know it too well: making music is tiring and can even ruin our health. Unbalanced body postures and movements constantly repeated when playing an instrument often produce overloads and wear on the locomotor apparatus that can lead to work disability. This work shows professional or amateur musicians what they can do themselves by their physical form and performance. ?? Physicians and physiotherapists describe the most frequent symptoms that can be developed when playing an instrument and give specific advice for the prevention and health care in the musical environment. ?? Music teachers explain the most important risks to health in the different instrumental families and show how we can protect ourselves against them. ?? Proposals for ergonomic accessories and suggestions against stress and stage fright can help reduce other additional burdens.
