Salim, a coachman from Damascus, knows a myriad of wonderful tales that fascinate all his listeners, like those of Scheherezade. One day he falls silent, a victim of an enchantment. Only seven unique stories will have the virtue of saving him, and these will be offered to him every night in the mouth of seven almost octogenarian friends. Until one of these unusual stories is able to break the spell Salim and give him speech.
