Paracosmos is a collection of stories that warns us from the title (para- is something that is next to something else, or is similar to something else) that the cosmos we enter is similar to ours, but is not the same. And it presents us with fascinating descriptions of a reality that could be more interesting than ours, but just as fallible. Gerardo Sifuentes is a born storyteller. He always manages a narrative speed that is sustained by brief fragments, various narrative voices and mentions of realities that could be parallel or to which we only have access to through his stories. In his narrative one finds conspiracy theories, Cold War nods, underground humor, and many elements of pop culture. If you had to label his style, one would say that Sifuentes' literature is a mixture of cyberpunk, Dickian visions of reality, implanted memories from so much looking at the screen that are no longer distinguished from the "real" ones, and an indefatigable curiosity that It ranges from history (the official version of events) to flying devices, be they chemical, mechanical or biological.
