Gary Lachman es escritor y músico. Nació en Bayonne, Nueva Jersey, en 1955, y desde 1996 vive en Londres. Entre 1975 y 1977 fue bajista, letrista y miembro fundador del grupo Blondie, y en 1981 guitarrista de Iggy Pop. Actualmente escribe y colabora para The Guardian, Mojo y Times Literary Supplement. Es autor de A Secret History of Consciousness (2003), de próxima publicación en Atalanta, In Search of Ouspensky: The Genius in the Shadow of Gurdjieff (2004), A Dark Muse: A History of the Occult (2005), Politics and the Occult: The Left, the Right, and the Radically Unseen (2008) y Jung The Mystic (2010), entre otras obras, así como de numerosos artículos.
