Catalonia is an independent, diverse and cultural Chilean publishing house founded by Arturo Infante Reñasco, an editor with a long career in Spain, Argentina and Chile.

At the end of 2003, the publishing house published Allende. How the White House caused her death, by Patricia Verdugo, which quickly became the best-selling book in Chile that year. Since then, prominent Chilean authors have been added to its incipient catalogue: Armando Uribe, Sonia Montecino, José Bengoa, Armando de Ramón, Elizabeth Subercaseaux, Alfonso Calderón, Humberto Giannini, Ángel Parra, Felipe Portales, among many others. The published works have won important literary awards: the National Book Council, Municipal, Altazor and others, meaning immediate recognition from the reading public and the consolidation of its catalogue.

Catalonia is directed by the editor Arturo Infante Reñasco and a team of professionals with outstanding careers. Recognized for its prestige and tradition by editors, authors and readers, the label responds professionally to a literary and cultural vocation that seeks to contribute to the bibliographic enrichment of Chile.

Its catalogue reflects an option for diversity and covers a number of genres across the board: social sciences and humanities, journalistic research, narrative, poetry, gastronomy, emotional development, graphic humor, children's books, among others. Today it has a solid distribution system throughout the country, and is the exclusive representative for Chile of prestigious foreign publishing labels.

Arturo Infante Reñasco (Santiago de Chile, 1949). State Professor of Philosophy at the University of Chile and a graduate in Philosophy and Letters; a graduate in Hispanic Philology from the University of Barcelona, ​​Spain. He began in the world of books in 1974, at the Seix-Barral publishing house in the city of Barcelona, ​​where he headed the Department of university editions. He was later general manager in Buenos Aires and president of the company until 1989. Editorial director of Grupo Planeta in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Editorial director of Sudamericana-Planeta in Argentina. Founder and director of Editorial Sudamericana in Chile from 1990 until its integration with the Random House-Mondadori group.

In 2003 he founded Editorial Catalonia, which he directs to this day. He has been called by government commissions as Editorial Advisor for the publication of numerous emblematic books. Among them, the official book commemorating the Centenary of Pablo Neruda. Editorial director of the publications of the Presidential Commission for the Bicentennial of the Republic. He was advisor to the National Council of Books and Reading; director of the Chilean Book Chamber; Vice President of SADEL (Society of Literary Rights of Chile).

He was President of the Chilean Book Chamber. Vice President of the GIE (Ibero-American Group of Editors). He was President of the Book and Reading Corporation. In 2012, he was chosen in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as one of the 50 most influential figures in the Spanish-speaking publishing world. In December of that same year, in recognition of his editorial work, as well as his cultural contribution and the promotion of reading as president of the Chilean Book Chamber, Arturo Infante was awarded the Oreste Plath Medal of Merit, granted by the Chilean Academy of Children's and Young Adult Literature (ACHLI).
