We are a sixty year old indie. We publish those authors we believe will outlive us. We make a dozen titles a year, many times in a double Catalan and Spanish edition. We are smugglers: we take our literature outside its borders and the foreign one inside. We also jumped the time barrier.
Club Editor was created by a group of writers with the decision to build what the Franco regime had destroyed: a literature that would shake the public. It was called “el club dels novel·listes” and it hosted the work of Mercè Rodoreda written from exile. Joan Sales directed the project and his is the motto: "books are also a weapon".
Today we try to be a reference publisher for people who seek pleasure and substance in literature. Our catalog is a banquet that we offer our readers and a house that we open to our authors. All of them speak our language, including those who write from Moscow or Beirut. Everyone gets along and talks to each other, the living with the dead and vice versa.
Looking for exceptions, we have founded a family, that of authors who address sensibility without worrying about fitting in with their time. Here the gender does not rule but the personality. Novels, short stories, essays disguised as fiction or graphic novels, all the representatives of prose coexist in our house, who are generally poets.

Our editorial is a way of working. As much or more than the catalogue, we are interested in being a workshop where the intelligence of each worker flourishes within a common project. An artist is the one who exercises an art and a worker is the one who makes a work: says the Alcover-Moll dictionary, our bible.
Publish a work, not a title; keep alive the whole that is a work: reissue it and disseminate it beyond the novelty, seek viability in the long seller. Dedicate to each text all the work it needs to reach maturity.
The elaboration of the text with authors and translators is the only editorial competence that is not questioned by the transformations of the sector. Making this its cornerstone was the first vocation of Club Editor, and the new times confirm it.
Offer well-worked translations and unpublished originals, not only endorsed by a name or an editorial label. Offer an identifiable literary territory, instead of a series of titles determined by the air of time. Offer, in addition to books, the possibility of exploring what they are.
