Juan Antonio Isla Estrada

Writer, political analyst and cultural promoter. He studied Law at the Autonomous University of Querétaro and Modern Literature at the Universidad Iberoamericana. He has published two essay books and a novel: Tributos y admiiraciones (Calygrama, 2014), Exercises in front of the blank sheet (UAQ, 2015) and Bajo los almendros. Prints of love and death (Siglo XXI, 2017). He founded the independent weekly Nuevo Milenio. He has been founding Director of University Extension of the Autonomous University of Querétaro, Secretary of Culture and Coordinator of Advisors of the Government of Querétaro. From 2009 to 2015 he was Technical Secretary of the Editorial Board of the Executive Power of Querétaro, where he developed a wide editorial project that includes the work of writers and artists from Queretaro, as well as a record of traditions, history and culture of the entity. It has promoted the creation of numerous cultural spaces. He is currently working on the writing of different narrative texts.
