José María Beneyto a PhD in Law and Philosophy from the European University of Münster, Jean Monnet Professor of Cultural Identity, Professor of International Law and International Relations, and also Director of the Institute of European Studies at the Universidad San Pablo-CEU. He has published numerous books and articles in the areas of international relations, philosophical thought and political philosophy, most notably Apocalypse of Modernity (1993), Tragedy and Reason: Europe in the thought of the twentieth century (1999), Europe and the United States: A History of the Atlantic relationship in the last hundred years (2004) and María Zambrano: the most transparent view (2004).
