Minae Mizumura is one of the most important writers of modern Japan. Born in Tokyo, she moved with her family to New York at age twelve. He studied French literature at Yale. In 1985 he published a critical essay on the work of Paul de Man. When his career ended, he settled back in Japan and began to write fiction. A real novel is his third novel and first published in Castilian. It was originally published in Japan in 2002 and received the Yomiuri Prize, one of the major literary awards in Japan, previously awarded to Kenzaburo Oe and Yukio Mishima. Mizumura has taught modern Japanese literature at American universities of Princeton, Michigan and Stanford. He also wrote critical articles and essays published in two volumes in 2004.
