We present here a text of a multifaceted character, philosopher, critic, journalist, novelist and playwright, who lived outside the academic world, however, exerted an enormous influence during the twentieth century. Born in Horice (Bohemia) on November 22, 1849, son of a Jewish textile manufacturer, studied jurisprudence at the University of Prague, but did not complete his studies but decided to devote himself to literature and wrote a first version (missing) of Critics of the language. In 1889 he befriended his future collaborator Gustav Landauer (1870-1919), anarchist, writer, thinker and member of the revolutionary government was established in Munich in 1919 briefly.
