Antonio Damasio is David Dornsife Professor of Neuroscience, Neurology and Psychology at the University of Southern California, where he directs the new Institute of the Brain and Creativity. He is also an adjunct professor at the Salk Institute and the University of Iowa he has received numerous awards, many of them shared with his wife, Hannah Damasio, also a neurologist and neuroscientist-, of which the latest is the Prince of Asturias Award Scientific and Technical Research (2005). He is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences, a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and author of two highly acclaimed books, The feeling of what happens (2001) Descartes' Error (Critical, 2001), both translated into more than thirty languages.
