Abū'Abd Allāh Muḥammad ibn'Alī ibn Muḥammad ibn'Arabī al-Ḥātimī aṭ-Ṭā'ī (Arabic: أبو عبد الله محمد بن علي بن محمد بن عربي الحاتمي الطائي, Murcia, July 28, 1165 - Damascus, November 16, 1240), better known as Ibn Arabi, Abenarabi and Ben Arabi, was a Sufi mystic, philosopher, poet, traveler and Muslim sage from Andalusia. His important contributions in many fields of the different Islamic religious sciences have earned him the nickname of Vivificador de la Religión (Arabic: محيي الدين, Muhyi al-Din) and the Greatest Teacher (Arabic: الشيخ الأكبر, as-Shaykh al-Akbar).
