Judith Schalansky (Greifswald, former GDR, 1980) is a German writer, graphic designer and editor. He studied History of Art at the University of Berlin and Design of Communication at the FH Potsdam. A renowned novelist, winner of an award as graphic designer and a great fan of atlas since she was a child, she has worked in this book for years, creating her own atlas of the loneliest places in the world. These islands are so inaccessible that until the end of the Ninety more people had set foot on the moon than on the island of Peter I in the Antarctic.
