Arthur Zajonc is president of the Mind & Life Institute, professor emeritus of Physics at Amherst College in Massachusetts, where he taught from 1978 to 2012, and a member of the Lindisfarne Association and the Fetzer Institute of Michigan. He has also been a visiting professor at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris and at the Max Planck Institute in Munich, as well as Fulbright professor at the University of Innsbruck. He is coauthor with David Seamon of Goethe's Way of Science (1998) and with George Greenstein of The Quantum Challenge (2005). He coordinated the dialogues on mind and life that several scientists held with the Dalai Lama in 1997 and 2003, collected in The New Physics and Cosmology: Dialogues with Dalai Lama (2004) and The Dalai Lama at MIT (2006).
