Ricardo Moreno Castillo was born in Madrid in 1950. He has a degree in Mathematics and since 1975 a high school professor. Afterwards, he studied Philosophy and received his doctorate with a thesis on the history of mathematics. On this subject he has published several books and numerous articles. Among the first are Mathematical Pensamento in Galicia (Edicions do Castro), 13 Galegos mathematicians (Editorial Anaya) and, in Editorial Nivola, Omar Jayyam, poet and mathematician; Fibonacci, the first medieval mathematician; Plancker and Poncelet, two ways of understanding geometry, and a translation of the Compendium of the art of calculation, by Ibn al-Samh. He currently works at the Gregorio Marañón Institute in Madrid and is also an associate professor at the Faculty of Mathematics of the Complutense University. http://www.antipedagogico.com
