Francisco García Olmedo

Dr. Agronomist and Ldo in Chemistry. Professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (1970-2008). He has researched genetic engineering of plants at the ETS of Agricultural Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He has authored the first patents on transgenic plants made in Spain and sold in the international market. Postdoctoral fellow and visiting professor at the University of Minnesota. Member of the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Europaea Academy. "Prize of the Royal Academy of Sciences", "Prize to the Sciences of the CEOE" and "Columela Prize of the Foundation of the COIAA". Author of the books "The Third Green Revolution" (Debate, 1998), translated into Italian; "Between Pleasure and Need" (Critique, 2001); "Ingenuity and hunger" (Criticism 2009), the poems "Natura according to Altroío" (Huerga & Fierro, 2002) and "Frozen Sea. Glosses and Tergiversos" (Huerga & Fierro, 2005) and novel "Notes to Fritz" ( Rasa Table, 2004).
