Leon Arsenal

Spanish writer born in Madrid in 1960. His real name is José Antonio Álvaro. He lived in La Coruña, where he studied at the Higher School of the Civil Navy, spending several years at sea. During the 90s he was a prolific author of fantasy genre stories, being awarded prizes such as the Ignotus and the Pablo Rido. After his first novel, El hombre de la plata (2000), he has published works of various genres: historical, thriller, fantastic, etc. He has also stood out as an editor: the magazine Galaxia, directed by him, was chosen in 2003 as the best fantasy literature publication by the European Science Fiction Association.

With his 2004 novel Máscaras de Matar, he won the first edition of the Premio Minotauro, the world's best-endowed fantasy literature award.
