This book intends to introduce a deviation in the habitual understanding of the imagination, to expand the term so that it does not retreat to the limits that have determined its use, in a historical moment in which it does not stop announcing its closure. Exhaustion that is verified in the impossibility of being able to imagine alternatives to our forms of production and organization of life. Hence, the bet and risk of this book consists of raising the critical category of material imagination as a methodological attempt that wants to contribute to promoting other training processes from different practices. In this sense, it is about delving into some of the developments presented in The performativity of images, to question what it could mean that there is a formative force in the image. If imagination is the ability to create images, how to activate that power of the imaginal? If what we want is a critique that is capable of investing its energy in a new creative passion to organize the controversial encounter between the real and the possible, it is necessary to explore a social, artistic and conceptual creation that works from the edges, the remains, the fragments and the accidental that occurs in the new forms of contact.
