Marie Darrieussecq (Bayonne, Bajos Pyrénées, France, January 3, 1969) is a French writer.
In 1996 she achieved great success in France with her first novel Truismes, which made her a figure of French literature. Truismes was a finalist for the Prix Goncourt that year. This novel sold more than 1,000,000 copies worldwide, being translated into more than 30 languages. In Spanish it was published in Spain in 1997 under the title of Marranadas and in Argentina as Chanchadas. Since then she has dedicated herself professionally to writing, having published more than a dozen novels, several of which have also been translated into Spanish.
