Francesco Guicciardini (1483-1540) was an Italian philosopher, historian and politician best known for his "History of Italy", which records the events that occurred in this territory from 1494 to 1532. He is considered the father of modern historiography due to his constant search for the original sources in which to find and with which to contrast the data.
