Jack Kornfield trained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand, Burma and India, and has been teaching meditation around the world since 1974.
He has been one of the key teachers in introducing Theravada Buddhist practice to the West.
For many years, his work has focused on integrating and bringing to life the great spiritual teachings of the East in a way that is accessible to Western students and society.
He also holds a degree in clinical psychology. A husband and father, he is a founding teacher of the Insight Meditation Society and the Spirit Rock Center. His work includes Seeking the Heart of Wisdom; A Still Forest Pool; Stories of the Spirit, Stories of the Heart; Buddha's Little Instruction Book; A Path with Heart; and The Teachings of the Buddha.
