Shinichi Hisamatsu

Shinichi Hisamatsu Hoseki (1889-1980) was professor of philosophy at Kyoto University. In Japan it is known as a reformer of Zen Buddhism tradition. With this aim in 1944 created the Community of Practice for the learning path (Gakudan-Dojo), which is currently the FAS zen institute In the fifties undertook long journeys to give lectures in Europe and America and met with Paul Tillich, Martin Buber, Rudolf Bultmann and Martin Heidegger.
