Yosa Buson

Yosa Buson, Japanese poet and painter of the eighteenth century, was born in Osaka. Reading these fifty his haikus on various flights, wonder how much he knew of birds. In an era without public libraries or manuals ornithology, science aviary came from knowledge of Japanese and Chinese classical culture and frequent tours of coastlines and mountains of the island of Honshu. Buson was definitely a good haijin (man haiku) based in the study and vagrancy, fleeting moments hunter, observer of nature. Without ceasing to be an artist warned.
