Adrián Curiel Rivera (Mexico City, 1969) is a Mexican narrator, essayist and literary critic. He is a doctor in Spanish and Latin American literature from the Autonomous University of Madrid. He has collaborated with articles, reviews and stories in various national and foreign media. He is the author of six novels, six books of short stories, and three literary criticism essays. He has been included in numerous anthologies: The X on the forehead. New Mexican narrative, Anthology of the Latin American short story of the 21st century, Anthology of the current Mexican short story, Day of the Dead, 20 years of narrative. Young creators of FONCA, More than you can imagine. Wicked tales, I only count. Volume 5, among others. Although he has been associated on different occasions with the crack generation, that link has been dismissed by Curiel Rivera on many other occasions. He currently serves as director of the Peninsular Center for Humanities and Social Sciences (CEPHCIS) at UNAM in Mérida, Yucatán. Alfaguara published his novel Blanco Trópico in 2014. In the Rayuela series (Texts of Cultural Diffusion, UNAM), in 2016, the book of stories Franco Day appeared. In 2018, his novel Paraíso en casa (Alfaguara) came to light. In 2019, 20 years after its first publication in Cal y Arena, the Ficticia publishing house reissued Some children flooded the house. Lectorum has recently published Amores Veganos (2021), a new collection of short stories.
