Amy Chávez has lived in Japan for 25 years and owns the Café Bar ¡Muuuuu !, on the small island of Shiraishi, in the Seto Inland Sea. Since 1997 he writes for the Japan Times the column “Japan Lite”, in which he reels, realistically but not without humor, the cultural differences between Japan and the West. His articles have been published in newspapers and magazines around the world such as Indonesia, Taiwan, New Zealand, Canada and the United States. He also runs the Books on Asia website.
