Andoni Unzalu. He was born in Abadiano, Vizcaya, in 1956. Of nationalist origin, he distanced himself from the PNV in the times of Ibarretxe to join the Aldaketa (Change) collective chaired by the former leader of the PNV and former Basque Minister of Culture, Joseba Arregi, who advocated a new way of doing politics in Euskadi and the need for an alternative to Basque nationalism. Later, he approached the PSE as an independent and was elected deputy in the Chamber of Vitoria. The weight of the communicative policy of Patxi López at the head of the Basque Government (2009-2012) fell on him. He was also general secretary of the Lehendakaritza during the socialist government and, later, advisor to López during his time as president of the Congress of Deputies. He is currently chief of staff of the Socialist Councilor for Tourism, Commerce and Consumption of the Basque Government. His previous book is Ideas or beliefs. Conversations with a Nationalist (2018).
