Andrea Köhler was born in Bad Pyrmont, Germany. She is a writer and journalist. She is the author of several books and serves as culture correspondent in the United States for the Swiss newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung. In 2003 she received the Berlin Prize for Literary Criticism.
