Andrew Zimbalist

Andrew S. Zimbalist is Robert A. Woods Professor of Economics at Smith College (Northampton, Massachusetts). Outstanding analyst of the economy and sports industry, he also acts as a sports commentator in important media. He has also been a visiting professor at various universities in Germany, Japan and Switzerland. Among many other titles, he is the author of "Sports, Jobs and Taxes: The Economic Impact of Sports Teams and Stadiums" (1997), "The Economics of Sport, I & II" (2001), "May the Best Team Win: Baseball Economics and Public Policy »(2003),« National Pastime: How Americans Play Baseball and the Rest of the World Plays Soccer »(2005),« The Bottom Line: Observations and Arguments in the Sports Business »(2007),« Circling the Bases: Essays on the Challenges and Prospects of the Sports Business (2010) and editor, together with Wolfgang Maennig, of the "International Handbook on the Economics of Mega Sporting Events" (2013).
