Ángel Rivière Gómez (Madrid, June 16, 1949-19 April 2000) was a Spanish cognitive psychologist and scientist, specialist in children with autistic disorder. He was a professor of cognitive psychology since 1990 until the sudden death of him in 2000.
He licensed in philosophy and letters in 1971 at the Complutense University of Madrid, in the specialty of psychology. That year, he will begin to work at the Autonomous University of Madrid and will give classes in History of Psychology in Complutense until 1977. He was a doctor in 1985 with the thesis entitled Reasoning and Representation and is appointed Professor of the Autonomous of Madrid in 1986 and Professor of cognitive psychology in 1990. His textbook of language psychology. Research and theory (1992), written with Mercedes Belinchón, who also compiled the two volumes of texts written by Rivière, is part of the basic bibliography of the subject of language psychology both at the Autonomous University of Madrid and at the National University of distance education.
