Annie Cohen-Solal is a professor and historian of culture. Born in Algeria, she received her doctorate in Paris from the University of Bribery. She is the author, among other books, of the monumental biography Sartre 1905-1980, the most complete and indispensable work on the writer. Published by Gallimard in 1985, it has been translated into numerous languages.
