He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Murcia and professor of philosophy at the high school Spanish. He is co-director of the Viceroy Tower. Journal of Cultural Studies. Essayist and translator, has poured into Castilian, among others, works of Leo Strauss, Stanley Cavell, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau and Abraham Lincoln. Antonio Lastra is director of the Centre for Cultural Studies at the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo in Valencia. His research focuses on the ethics of literature, American constitutional writing, the links between theology and politics (the "theological-political problem") and film studies.
